Tra Vinh- Can Tho
25 - 65 km
Cycling from Tra Vinh to Can Tho offers a beautiful journey through the peaceful countryside and rich Khmer culture of the Mekong Delta. As the morning light spreads across the rice fields, we begin riding along quiet rural roads toward traditional Khmer villages, where daily life remains closely connected to ancient Theravada Buddhist temples. These colorful temples, surrounded by tall trees and peaceful gardens, reflect the deep spiritual traditions and enduring heritage of the Khmer community.
Our ride continues through vast agricultural landscapes, passing endless rice paddies, coconut groves, and small canals. Friendly local children run to the roadside with bright smiles and enthusiastic waves, creating joyful moments that make the journey even more memorable. Along the way, we gain insight into the traditional lifestyle of the Khmer people, who still preserve many customs and farming practices passed down through generations.
By midday, we arrive in the charming town of Cau Ke for a relaxing lunch break and a chance to recharge. After lunch, a short transfer brings us to another scenic section of the route, where we continue cycling along peaceful back roads and narrow village lanes. Crossing small rivers by local ferry boats adds a special touch to the adventure as we gradually approach the lively city of Can Tho. W'll have a short transfer to Can Tho. 3:
Can Tho- Long Xuyen- Chau Doc
25 - 65 km
Begin the day with a gentle breakfast, then bid farewell to your hotel as the first light of morning beckons you onward. Glide across the Mekong’s shimmering waters by motorized boat to reach one of the delta’s most mesmerizing spectacles—the grand floating market. Here, the river awakens in a vibrant symphony of life: boats of every shape and size drift and dance upon the current, laden with heaps of sun-ripened fruits and goods of every kind. Traders call out across the water, transactions unfold from vessel to vessel, and the entire scene pulses with a rhythm both ancient and alive. Words can scarcely capture its scale and spirit—better to simply watch, listen, and let the moment unfold before your eyes.
After this lively encounter, step ashore and set off on a tranquil morning ride through the peaceful enclaves of Phong Dien and Thoi Lai. Follow winding paths that weave through a tapestry of waterways and verdant villages, pausing often to discover humble farms, bustling little markets, and the quiet charm of riverside life.
A delightful lunch awaits, offering time to rest and savor local flavors before a scenic 2.5-hour transfer to Chau Phu District. From here, embark on an enchanting afternoon ride toward the sacred silhouette of Sam Mountain in Chau Doc. Pedal leisurely through expansive rice paddies that ripple like emerald seas, passing through sleepy hamlets and past vibrant Vietnamese pagodas adorned with towering Buddha statues. Trace the edges of man-made canals, where thatched shelters and swaying palms frame the countryside, and elevated farms hint at the ingenuity of delta life.
