Embark on a semi-supported bike tour through the heart of Vietnam’s backroads, where every turn offers a new glimpse into the country’s soul. Begin with a guided walking tour through the historic Purple Citadel in Hue, tracing the steps of emperors and soaking in centuries of imperial heritage.

Discover the timeless charm of Phuoc Tich Ancient Village as you wander along tranquil paths framed by lush rice paddies, arriving at a destination steeped in history. Experience the delicate artistry of traditional rush weaving in a local craft village, and witness the masterful skill of wood carving in My Xuyen. Immerse yourself in the cultural richness of Phuoc Tich, where centuries-old “ruong” houses stand gracefully, and a private pottery museum offers a glimpse into the village’s enduring heritage.

Pedal along coastal back roads, with the breeze at your back and the sea on your side. Pass through sleepy fishing villages, where wooden boats bob gently in the harbor and fresh seafood sizzles on roadside grills. The landscape shifts constantly—from lush farmland to sandy stretches and windswept lagoons.

The adventure peaks with a ride over the legendary Ocean Cloud Pass-Hai Van Pass, a thrilling ascent with jaw-dropping views of the mountains meeting the sea. It’s a challenge for the legs and a reward for the soul.

Finally, roll into the real countryside of Hoi An, far from the lantern-lit streets. Explore riverside trails, local markets, and the quiet rhythms of rural life that most visitors never see. At Tra Que vegetable village, you can experience what it’s like to be a farmer for half a day. Guided by local farmers, you will learn how to loosen the soil, plant seeds, and attend a cooking class. This is not just a tour—it’s a deep dive into Vietnam’s landscapes, culture, and everyday magic. A perfect blend of exploration, challenge, and connection.

Cycling to Phuoc Tich Ancient Village in the moring. Begin your day with a short transfer from Hue to the peaceful countryside on the city’s outskirts. From here, set off by bicycle along quiet rural lanes that meander through lush rice paddies and traditional villages, offering a glimpse into Vietnam’s timeless pastoral life. Along the way, visit a local rush-weaving village where skilled artisans transform the abundant co bang grass into beautifully crafted items such as sleeping mats, handbags, and hats. Continue onward to a nearby village renowned for its centuries-old woodcarving tradition. Here, explore family-run workshops and experience firsthand the artistry behind this enduring craft.

Discover the village & Enjoy a locally prepared lunch. Arrive at the historic Phuoc Tich Ancient Village, founded in 1470 during the reign of Emperor Le Thanh Tong. Nestled beside the gently winding O Lau River and near the border of Quang Tri Province, the village is home to 27 traditional ruong houses, including 12 of remarkable architectural and cultural significance.

Cycle through tranquil pathways shaded by ancient trees, discovering well-preserved religious structures and the serene beauty of the surrounding landscape. Visit the private museum of Mr. Le Trong Dien, where a remarkable collection of antique pottery—some dating back centuries—offers insight into the region’s rich heritage.

Conclude your journey with a memorable home-hosted lunch, where you will not only savor authentic local flavors but also learn to prepare a traditional lotus seed cake. Return in the late afternoon, carrying with you lasting impressions of Phuoc Tich’s charm, craftsmanship, and enduring cultural legacy.

Dear Phuc, We checked in to our Hoi An hotel a little while ago. Big thank you from the girls and me for such a fantastic experience. Mike/Thien was a wonderful guide, giving excellent directions, knowing when to take breaks and when to carry on, very hospitable with food and rest, knew and explained local culture well and above all ensured we had a safe and enjoyable ride. Mr. Thuc was also a great support with the van. We had such a great time we hope to come back for a longer ride maybe in the winter sometime. Also, my account was unfrozen us night/our morning and I just sent you the wire transfer for the remaining balance. Attached are screenshots of the confirmation. Please let me know if you have any questions thank you again for such a well planned and organized bike tour. 28 - 31 July 2025

Warmly, Shayoni
