This journey is designed for experienced travelers who have explored Cambodia and are ready to discover the mighty Mekong Delta by bike, all the way to Ho Chi Minh City. If you're beginning your cycling adventure in Cambodia and eager to venture into Vietnam, Chau Doc is the perfect starting point. This charming border town is where you’ll meet our team a day before the ride begins.

From there, you’ll pedal through the tranquil countryside of Cao Lanh, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, and Ben Tre, weaving across the Mekong’s intricate waterways on local ferries. Along the route, you’ll experience authentic rural life, visit historic sites, explore vibrant floating markets, and wander through colorful flower villages.

The journey culminates in the bustling energy of Ho Chi Minh City, leaving you with lasting memories of Vietnam’s rich culture, warm hospitality, and breathtaking river landscapes.

Your day begins with a hotel pickup in Chau Doc, followed by a scenic motorboat journey of over an hour. As you cruise along the waterways, you’ll visit a traditional floating village where you’ll learn about catfish farming and gain insight into the daily lives of local families who live on small boats as their homes.

Afterward, you’ll enjoy an easy and relaxing cycling ride along the winding banks of the Mekong River. Pedaling through peaceful countryside paths, you’ll pass from village to village, witnessing farmers tending vegetable gardens, cultivating rice paddies, and fishing along natural creeks.

The route then takes you to the charming islet of Gieng, where you’ll visit an impressive monastery known for its unique colonial-era architecture—one of the earliest constructions from the French period in Indochina.

Continuing your ride, you’ll cycle past stilt houses and quiet riverside communities until reaching a local ferry crossing. The rest of the day is dedicated to a gentle ride along smooth concrete paths by the Mekong River, with stops at vibrant local markets and lush mango orchards along the way.

Finally, you’ll transfer by private vehicle to your hotel for check-in, bringing a rewarding day of cultural discovery and scenic cycling to a close.

This is a wonderful chance to experience the natural beauty of the countryside and observe the daily life of local people living along quiet rural roads.

Along the way, you’ll share a local ferry crossing over the Upper River before continuing your ride through rustic canal-side paths and expansive rice fields. After exploring the region’s charming flower villages and surrounding countryside, you’ll enjoy a local lunch before visiting the ancient house made famous as the setting of Marguerite Duras’s autobiographical novel L’Amant "The Lover"

In the afternoon, a shuttle transfer takes you to Can Tho. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your own pace.

After breakfast at the hotel, we check out and load your luggage onto the support vehicle before setting off by boat to the lively Cai Rang Floating Market, located about 6 km from the center of Can Tho. Cruising through the market by boat offers a fascinating glimpse into the bustling river life of the Mekong Delta.

After the market visit, we transfer by vehicle for around 40 minutes to the countryside of Phung Hiep, where today’s cycling begins. From here, we ride through lush green villages, tranquil lakes, and a network of irrigation canals, venturing deeper into the Khmer community. Along the way, you may see grocery boats calling out their goods, small wooden boats transporting rice from villages to town, and children playing in schoolyards during their break. Most Khmer families in this area make their living through farming and free-range duck raising.

This morning’s cycling route is pleasantly shaded, while the afternoon ride opens up to wide countryside views. Quiet concrete paths wind through beautiful rural scenery, allowing you to cycle at your own pace and stop whenever you wish for photos. The day’s ride ends at the famous Khmer pagoda, after which we transfer by vehicle to the hotel for check-in.

Tra Vinh is the town where you will stay tonight. Although it is not far from Soc Trang City, crossing the Mekong River by two ferries takes quite a long time. To save more time for cycling, your guide has arranged the best route.

After a 30-minute vehicle transfer to the outskirts of Soc Trang in the morning, we begin cycling through Dung Island (Lao Dung Islet). Enjoy a local ferry ride to the island, where you will meet friendly residents in their homes. The ride takes you past sugarcane fields, betel nut gardens, banana plantations, fish farms, and shrimp farms along the river.

After exploring the island by bike, we take another large ferry to Cau Quan District, a rural district of Tra Vinh. Following a hearty lunch in Cau Quan, we continue our cycling adventure along quiet country back roads to Tra Vinh via Tieu Can. Along the way, you will have opportunities to take photos with local farmers and observe the lifestyles of the Khmer, Chinese, and Vietnamese communities.

We then continue on an easy and scenic route deeper into some of the region’s most beautiful villages. Most local people earn their living from farming and raising chickens, ducks, and fish. If time permits, your guide may extend the ride a little farther, but the group should board the van or bus before dark.

You’ll start your day with a half-day cycling adventure before transferring back to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon. After a short 30-minute shuttle ride to the Mekong River, your final biking journey begins in Ben Tre.

Enjoy a relaxing ride along shady rural backroads lined with coconut trees. Along the way, you’ll pass local workshops where artisans produce coconut jelly and coconut fiber using traditional methods. There will be several stops at family-run homes, giving you a chance to see how local products are made and experience authentic daily life.

You’ll also have the fun opportunity to interact with friendly locals—even without your guide’s translation! Get creative with gestures and body language to make these moments enjoyable and memorable.

Your cycling adventure concludes near the highway in Mo Cay District. Afterward, you’ll head to My Tho City for a well-deserved lunch before relaxing on the van or bus ride back to Ho Chi Minh City. Tour ends.
