On this combined day tour from Saigon, you will explore Vam Sat Eco Park by bike, canoe, and sampan to discover its natural sanctuary, including birds, storks, crocodiles, the Giant Bat Lagoon, and the famous monkey habitat. Enjoy panoramic views of the lush green forest from Tang Bong Tower, and visit the Rung Sat Museum and the historic Rung Sat Guerrilla Base.

Known as the ‘green lung’ of Ho Chi Minh City and located just 50 km southeast of the city, Can Gio is a remarkable mangrove forest ecosystem that attracts both local and international visitors for day trips. In 2000, the Can Gio Mangrove Forest was recognized by UNESCO as Vietnam’s first mangrove biosphere reserve, covering an area of 75,000 hectares. This vibrant natural sanctuary is home to diverse flora and fauna, making it an ideal destination for biologists and nature enthusiasts to explore wetlands, observe wildlife, and visit the former Viet Cong base in Rung Sac—a strategic military site active from 1966 to 1975.

After being picked up at your hotel, we will transfer out of the crowded city and cross the Saigon River. The ride begins with a few kilometers on the main road before turning onto smaller back roads. We cycle through mangrove forests and rural villages, observing how locals farm prawns and fish along rustic country routes. Along the way, we visit bird’s nest farms and processing facilities, then continue to the Vam Sat local market and ride alongside the river. We take a break for coffee and fresh fruit while exploring the market. Afterwards, we continue cycling along open-air paths across fish and prawn farms to Vam Sat Eco Park, offering endless photo opportunities and authentic local encounters.

A rowing boat then takes us deeper into the forest to explore the bird sanctuary and Giant Bat Lagoon, followed by a crab fishing experience. We take a short ride to Tang Bong Tower to enjoy panoramic views over the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, one of the largest restored mangrove ecosystems in the world.

We then enjoy a seafood lunch at the Vam Sat Eco Park center before taking a canoe trip through lush mangrove forests to Dan Xay Bridge. Afterwards, we transfer by support vehicle to Monkey Island, where you can walk through the park, immerse yourself in nature, and observe monkeys up close. We also visit the Rung Sat Museum. Please be careful with your sunglasses, mobile phones, and personal belongings, as monkeys are known to grab them. We return to Ho Chi Minh City by support vehicle in the late afternoon.
