We begin our exhilarating second-day ride to Hoi An with a short transfer into Hue’s serene countryside, unveiling some of Vietnam’s most breathtaking rural landscapes and idyllic, picture-perfect villages. Pedaling along winding, tranquil back roads, we pass through lush emerald rice paddies, charming hamlets, ancient cemeteries, and vibrant fish farms skirting the shimmering lagoons.

We pause in Vinh Hien for a delightful local lunch and a leisurely wander through a bustling, colorful market, soaking in the authentic rhythms of daily life. Afterward, we continue cycling along a scenic, gently undulating mountain lane, climbing over the dramatic Phuoc Tuong Pass and tracing the glittering edge of Lang Co Lagoon, where sea and sky blend in stunning harmony.

By mid-afternoon, we arrive at the elegant Lang Co Resort, where you can unwind and savor the rest of the day—relaxing on the pristine beach, breathing in the fresh ocean air, or meandering through the peaceful surroundings at your own pace.

After breakfast, we set off with a gentle warm-up ride before tackling the iconic Hai Van Pass. Though not long, this scenic coastal route is a traveler’s highlight, winding along a mountain spur with sweeping views over the East Sea.

Climbing through the Truong Son mountain range to about 500 meters, the pass features steady 5–10% gradients. We’ll pause at scenic viewpoints to enjoy the panorama and capture photos. At the summit, explore old bunkers, radio stations, and traditional gates before an exhilarating descent toward Da Nang along the coast.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we continue on flat coastal roads to Marble Mountains, where a short hike reveals caves and Buddhist sanctuaries hidden in the hills. In the late afternoon, we cycle on to Hoi An, arriving in time to soak up its charming, lantern-lit atmosphere.

We are now home in New York (where it's cold!), and i wanted to thank you for an excellent trip. Everything worked out very well, and Mr. Thieu was a wonderful guide and travel companion. 08-12 January 2024

We did a 3 day private tour for 5 family members in the area around Hoi-An. Our guide Ma Thieu was excellent. The bikes were brand new. Ma Thieu’s knowledge of all the back roads and small paths through rice fields was extraordinary. Excellent trip. Vietnam Backroads planning was very thorough. We had a great time. A highlight of our 2 weeks in Vietnam. 22 - 24 February 2024
