Explore the unexploited Mua Xuan Forest by boat and by bike—an off-the-beaten-path destination nestled within the Lung Ngoc Hoang Natural Reserve in Hau Giang Province, Mekong Delta. Covering an area of approximately 130 hectares, Mua Xuan is a true paradise for nature lovers. The forest is dominated by 2,800 hectares of thick Melaleuca trees, surrounded by vast pineapple plantations and laced with peaceful waterways carpeted in hyacinth, duckweed, and water lettuce. This unique ecosystem supports a vibrant diversity of wildlife, including birds, fish, bees, bats, storks, egrets, cormorants, peafowl, and kingfishers.

A visit to the Wax Coconut Museum offers insight into a rare variety of coconut native to the region, making for a fascinating cultural stop along your journey. Vietnam Backroads Bike Tours brings travelers beyond the typical tourist trails with hand-crafted cycling routes and immersive experiences in lesser-known destinations. One such gem is Soc Trang, a non-touristy city deeply rooted in Khmer culture. Once part of the Khmer Empire in the 12th and 13th centuries, Soc Trang is home to a vibrant Khmer population and offers a refreshing contrast in pace, architecture, cuisine, and community life. Cycle through remote hamlets where the rhythm of life flows differently. Discover iconic cultural landmarks such as the Clay Pagoda and Bat Pagoda, symbols of Soc Trang’s spiritual and historical legacy. This is a journey into a different side of Vietnam—rich, authentic, and quietly captivating.
