Biking 3D/ 2N Saigon to Phu Quoc Islands

It has been the best tour that we have done whilst in Vietnam. The guides were great! Very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The overall, trip was challenging but we felt extremely satisfied when we had finished. We would like to say a big thank you to our tour guides! We did the HCMC -> Phu Quoc "3D 2N" (really 2D 2N), which was overall fabulous. The roads were excellent with few motorbikes and varied terrain. The tour itself was beautiful. Our guide Cong was very accommodating, nice, knowledgeable, and flexible to our needs. It was great to have a home cooked lunch at his family’s house. The bikes themselves were in great shape, and the van was also very comfortable with a great driver. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because of two main issues. First, while Cong was wonderful, he didn't quite have the humor reflected in the reviews of some other guides (though I think part of this may be that I often had a hard time understanding his English). Secondly, the owners of the company emphasized that every trip is flexible and distance per day can be tailored to what you want - I really had to advocate for biking more than 40km/d on our trip. In the end, Cong accommodated this on the second day, but I had to push for it. If you want longer distances, I recommend you email ahead of time to see if what you want is possible, then reiterate this again with your guide on day 1 of your trip. Dat was very professional, helpful, friendly, prepared . He was fantastic. I appreciated his explanations. He was knowledgeable about the land + culture The lunch on the first day was excellent. Hotel was excellent. I really enjoyed the trip to floating market. Mr. Huy was an excellent driver and helpful with equipment. In the future, should make sure the back- up equipment is good. Our guide was very attentive, knowledgeable, kind. We were in very good hands. He is a lovely person. He mad the tour special. The driver- Mr. Huy was also wonderful. We had lots of snacks, meals, drinks. All really good. The sights biking and on car and ferry were so nice, including the visits to the markets. The Mekong Delta is a unique and beautiful place. Huy was a great guide – very knowledgeable and great sense of humor. He made sure that we had plenty of food and water and local treats. I would have preferred a different hotel uncomfortable beds, no windows, but did not affect our trip overall. I would recommend Vietnam Backroads and especially Huy! Megan: Huy was a great guide! I have had an amazing time on this trip and has easily been the most enjoyable part of our holiday so far. Our guide- Thang is incredible. His knowledge has taught us so much about Vietnam and the way he tailored the tour so that we weren't around lots of tourists which makes it even better. We really want to see the real Vietnam and Thang showed us that. The restaurant on the first night wasn't great though, a little too touristy for us but it might be perfect for others. Our trip was a great journey and the best way to see the people and their lives in the Mekong Delta. My only complaint was the bed in the hotel, room first night. It was too hard Everything else was exceptional.

Thang was a really excellent guide who has great knowledge and passion about his country. I feel as if I know much more about Vietnam. The food was a particular highlight as we stopped at many local places and samled a great range of food. The hotel on the first night was fine. Then dinner on the first night was ok, but I think we preferred the food from the market Thang showed us. This has been a really wonderful tour, and I will definitely be recommending it! As we are budget travellers this trip was a big cost for us but we had an excellent time so very glad we did it. We were never pressured in tipping or buying things and snacks/drinks were provided whenever we felt like it which was a good touch. Guide was great fun and made the trip more enjoyable. Dinner was also very good. Very friendly guide. The journey was just challenging. Minivan' diver always providing enough water, snacks. The trip to experience the Mekong Delta was very accommodating to our needs. Ms Quang in the office in Saigon was so nice and helpful too.

We did 3 day 2 night bike ride through the Delta...it was wonderful. We love our guide. Day one was a lot of riding in concrete paths along country side, rural villages, taking a ferry to island etc. Day 2 was a combination of biking and boat exploration to the floating market. It was a long van ride to Rach Gia where our guide took us to a nice restaurant. In the morning the guide arranged a taxi for us to the docks where we took the boat to Phu Quoc. We wanted to end our trip on the island,so the itinerary of this trip worked for us. I think you see so much more with 2 days biking than just a one day excursion from HCMC. We loved it. It was so interesting to ride through the villages, try the various fruits, hear the children laughing and saying "hello"....etc. We enjoyed the boating morning and the floating market. It is really only 2 days riding since Day 3 is the trip to Phu Quoc. Much of the riding is on conrete paths and very safe....occassional areas that need repair etc, but over all good. Most of the riding is quite flat except for the little narrow steep bridges over the canals. The mountain bikes we had were excellent....everything in great working order. Excellent tour with very good guide Phuc. The pace and distance were flexible and he was very attentive to our needs. We were able to stop and take pictures and meet local people including a wedding party. All of the food was excellent, and the Rustic Mekong Home-stay was the best accommodations! So charming! The van and driver was good, safe nice. We wish the seat on the bicycles were more comfortable and better shock absorber for bumps. The itinerary was great. I felt like I was truly experiencing Vietnam 🇻🇳 rural life (to a very small degree) as much as can be expected. Megong Delta was very interesting and I feel enriched by the experience. Your Company is extremely well organized and thorough. There was not one moment I could fault it. Hoang was very welcoming kind and helpful. He was amazing !! Such a nice person. He was patient with all our questions, attentive and I enjoyed his lovely relaxed personality. It was such a pleasure to have him as our guide. He actually went out of his way to help us. Also extremely professional. Your driver Kym was also lovely kind and helpful. Also funny 😄. Not lost in translation we got his jokes . I feel so appreciative that I was able to do this trip and that you were able to organize this trip for Esther & myself. Dear Phuong Tam, lovely to hear from you - I wanted to come back to you anyway because I checked my bank account again yesterday and could see that the money still not got finally send through. I am so sorry about that and I am going to talk to my bank and will let you know as soon as possible. It’s really annoying that I can’t really rely on their service. To be honest about the tour - there was nothing negative (and you probably experienced that Europeans are quite hard to please) at all. I simply loved it, couldn’t have gotten any better. seriously - Hoang is the best host you could have hired for this job so be proud of your choice :) All the time (!) he was so attentive, took such great care, led us to such lovely and interesting places, was simply the perfect companion.
