Embark on an unforgettable 12-day cycling adventure through Northern Vietnam, starting in the scenic Sapa Valley and following the rugged route toward the border town of Lao Cai. From there, pedal your way through quiet backroads to Coc Ly, then continue to the highland market town of Bac Ha for an overnight stay. The journey climbs deeper into the remote mountains, crossing breathtaking rice terraces as you make your way to the stunning landscapes of Hoang Su Phi.
In the days that follow, prepare to conquer some of Ha Giang’s most iconic routes, including the dramatic Tham Pha Pass, the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, and the spectacular “Sky Wall” road—offering panoramic views of jagged limestone peaks and winding river valleys. The adventure then leads south to the serene waters of Ba Be Lake, a peaceful contrast to the wild mountain terrain. After days of challenging yet rewarding rides through some of Vietnam’s most awe-inspiring scenery, the tour concludes with a return to Hanoi, leaving you with lasting memories of this epic northern frontier cycling journey.
8:00 AM – You will be picked up from your hotel for a full-day sightseeing tour of Hanoi, a city known for its rich history and colonial-era architecture. Your city tour begins with a visit to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, founded in 1070. Next, explore the historical Hoa Lo Prison, followed by a walk through the Old Quarter, famous for its 36 bustling narrow streets. You'll also visit Hoan Kiem Lake and the iconic Ngoc Son Temple.
In the afternoon, continue to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, showcasing the diverse cultures of the country's ethnic groups. You’ll also stop at Ho Chi Minh’s traditional stilt house, offering insight into the life of Vietnam’s most revered leader.
Later in the day, we’ll inspect and test the bicycles in preparation for the cycling tour. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, where you’ll have the chance to meet the rest of the group. Your tour leader will also give a brief orientation.
